PART ONE
- you meet Michael on your cross-country adventure and end up bringing him with you after he makes it clear he has nowhere else to go
- he doesn’t know how to drive and constantly whines about it and you rub it in his face
- he has a habit of stealing the car keys and dangling them out of reach, making you have to wrestle him for them
- most times this ends with him giving you a piggyback ride or you both on the ground laughing
- he feeds you snacks when you’re driving and jokingly pulls the food away at the last minute
- you tease him about spending all your money whenever you stop for a meal - the man’s stomach is a bottomless pit
- he finds it annoying and incredibly endearing when you sing along to the radio or when it’s dead silent
- he refuses to join you in a duet but sometimes you can hear him hum or tapping his fingers along to the song quietly
- he makes no complaints when you dance at stop lights though, just watching you quietly with a secret smile on his lips - sometimes he even laughs
- making him laugh is both easy and challenging
- the first night you both check into a motel, he innocently asks to share a room so you get a double
- he watches you do your hair in the morning and when you put it in twists at night
- some days you let him help take your hair down, his finger tips ghosting over your curls and gently tugging them out of the twists
- he prefers staying in rooms but you convince him to camp under the stars whenever there’s an opportunity to do so
- he points out the constellations to you and tells you stories about them and magic and how there’s a power struggle between witches and warlocks nobody knows about
- when he finally tells you who he is and what he can do, you don’t believe him at first
- you ask him to prove it and he does by levitating you gently in the air
- after that he uses magic to show off all the time - to toss food into your mouth, to stir your tea, to throw a man into a wall after catcalling you
